RBH secures significant growth with Fragrance Group including landmark Liverpool development
Global property developer Fragrance Group has appointed RBH to manage a further three hotels. This represents the first new build developments for Fragrance Group in the UK, while significantly expanding the existing partnership between the parties.
The three franchised properties are all on track to open in the next 6 months and include the impressive Municipal Hotel Liverpool – an MGallery collection, together with Mercure Paignton and Ibis Styles Paignton.
Set to be one of the best hotels in the city and the first MGallery branded-hotel in the North-West, the Municipal Hotel Liverpool finds its abode in the old Municipal Buildings, originally opened in 1868. It last year revealed its newly renovated façade in anticipation of its transition into a 179-bedroom luxury hotel with extensive F&B, leisure & spa facilities.
Opening Q2 of 2023, Mercure Paignton is a 161-bedroom new-build seafront property and will form part of a cluster including the new 121-bedroom ibis Styles Paignton, set to open later this year. The properties form part of Fragrance Group’s significant Paignton regeneration scheme which is expected to generate a further £5m a year for the local economy and both hotels will transform the local hotel market.
The appointment of RBH to manage the three Accor branded openings represents the continued growth of their partnership with Fragrance Group and follows a successful relationship dating back to 2017 when the management company took on The Imperial Hotel Blackpool, following Fragrance Group’s acquisition. Since then, RBH has managed a further 6 properties on behalf of Fragrance.
As the chosen operator, RBH’s CEO David Hart said:
“I am extremely proud of this significant endorsement of RBH and to be entrusted with Fragrance Group’s first UK hotel development projects. We very much value the relationship which we have with the principals at Fragrance Group, and we are excited to expand this into the luxury market where we have also seen continued growth and success across the wider RBH portfolio.”
Martin Rogers, representing Fragrance Group said:
“These three hotels are not only key developments in terms of our UK pipeline, but are also representative of our growing relationship with RBH. David, together with Operations Director Mark Dempsie and the wider RBH team, are true partners and we value their support and expertise.”
