RBH was appointed to manage a £1m investment to preserve the Category ‘A’ listed building, built in 1892. The Doubletree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre restoration project included the repair and redecoration of timber window frames, the preservation of the polished cream ashlar façade, and the replacement of large, curved, polished ashlar lintels. New sandstone details that had been weathered beyond repair were also indented by expert stonemasons using traditional techniques and methods. During this project, our team ensured the work took place in careful stages so that there was minimal disruption to guests.
