Petrut Burghel, from the housekeeping team at Crowne Plaza London - Docklands, was post-humously recognised for his efforts of inspiring and encouraging others to embrace the principles of sustainable recycling by Considerate Hoteliers at the Hotel of the Year Awards.

Joanne Taylor-Stagg, General Manager, who collected the award with Edward Murray said: "It's an honour to collect Petrut's Special Achievement Award, he was so very passionate about our environmental initiatives and he was truly a remarkable person and a beacon for us all here to follow".

Hoteliers, suppliers, judges and nominees gathered at a central London hotel on the 13th June 2014 to celebrate the best in environmental and socially responsible performances within the UK and international hotel industry.
