RBH’s Martin MacPhail wins People Manager of the Year at prestigious Hotel Cateys
RBH’s HR Director Martin MacPhail has been recognised with the People Manager of the Year award at the Hotel Cateys.
Last night’s ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge saw nominees from across the hotel industry gather for one of the most highly anticipated award ceremonies of the year.
Martin was joined by colleagues as he picked up the award following his exceptional dedication to the development of employees, the implementation of a strong health and wellbeing strategy, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
On winning this award, Martin MacPhail, HR Director at RBH said: “It’s an honour to have stood alongside some top hoteliers and hospitality professionals in such a highly regarded set of awards, let alone winning a category that means so much to me.
“Being so invested in the success of our people at RBH makes this kind of recognition very meaningful. It is testament to a supportive team of likeminded and driven professionals that work collaboratively together to open up as many opportunities as possible for our people to learn, develop and grow so that RBH can continue to be one of the best places to work in hospitality.”
David Hart, RBH’s CEO said: “Martin wholeheartedly deserves this prestigious accolade and plays an incredibly pivotal role in shaping the people at RBH. It is our people that ultimately drive our success as a business, and it’s been a great honour to watch his continual accomplishments over the years.
“A special mention must also go to Preston Laing, Night Auditor at the Hilton Aberdeen TECA who received the Extra Mile Award last night after his honourable quick thinking saved the life of a hotel guest that had gone into cardiac arrest.”
In addition to Martin and Preston’s awards, The Gantry London, CURIO Collection by Hilton’s Sofia Konstantakopoulou was a worthy finalist for Revenue Manager of the Year.
