RBH boosts South West footprint with new opening: Mercure Paignton
The brand-new Mercure Paignton opens to visitors and local residents this week. The four-star hotel, situated on the seafront of the South Devon resort, is managed by RBH and owned by Singapore-based Fragrance Group, while franchised by global brand, Accor.
The new-build seafront property will form part of a cluster including the new 121-bedroom ibis Styles Paignton, set to open later this year. The properties are part of Fragrance Group’s significant Paignton regeneration scheme which is expected to generate a further £5m a year for the local economy. The two new properties will generate some 60 jobs in the local area.
Mercure Paignton will deliver a special experience for guests with stunning views of the coast, promenade, pier and beach, 161 stylish bedrooms, a spacious glass fronted restaurant and a two tier Mediterranean style terrace complete with an outside bar.
General Manager Jason Parry, said:
“This is a hugely exciting project and one which promises a new age of prosperity for Paignton with many benefits for the local economy, such as a boost for Riviera tourism and employment for local people.”
RBH was appointed to manage the Mercure Paignton alongside two other Accor branded hotel openings this year. The move signifies the continued growth of their partnership with owners, Fragrance Group.
RBH’s CEO David Hart said:
“Mercure Paignton is an exciting opening for RBH and illustrates the success of the relationship we have built with the Fragrance Group. It will be an exceptional example of the Mercure brand and we look forward to working with Accor to ensure the success of the hotel.“
