RBH to manage its first AC Hotels by Marriott property
RBH Hospitality Management has been appointed by leading UK property developer and operator Chris Stewart Group to manage a stylish new city centre AC Hotels by Marriott® in Glasgow.
This marks the first AC Hotel by Marriott to be managed by RBH, as well as the management company’s first upscale property in the city of one of its head offices. It will be the eighth overall Marriott-branded property to join the RBH portfolio, further expanding the partnership and cementing RBH as a key collaborator and expert in the UK hotel market.
The luxuriously designed AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow is a key component of the £100 million Love Loan plans to redevelop an entire block on Glasgow’s historic George Street, just off George Square. Originally built as a grand residential area in the heart of the city with imposing buildings, impressive public spaces and a collection of important monuments, the neighbourhood is ideal to house the planned bars, restaurants, health and well-being facilities and Scotland’s first Soho House private members club.
With Glasgow Queen Street Station and some of the city’s most visited areas and attractions just minutes away, the 245-room, four-star hotel is targeted at business and leisure travellers. The building itself is an exquisite combination of the fully renovated imposing 120-year-old A-listed Victorian former city Parish Hall and a sleek design-led new-build addition, marrying traditional charm with contemporary refinement.
In addition, the RBH Capital Projects team were also contracted to manage the procurement of the hotel’s OS&E and FF&E, demonstrating the management company’s breadth of industry expertise.
With its commitment to continued growth, RBH now works with over 50 UK hotels - and more than 200 in its 20-year history - partnering with UK, global and independent brands to manage budget to premium properties, firmly establishing RBH as the complete in-house hotel management partner of choice.
RBH’s CEO David Hart said:
“We pride ourselves on both our brand and investor partner relationships, so we are delighted that Chris Stewart Group has again entrusted us with the opening of a new Marriott property. AC Hotels by Marriott® is a fantastic edition to the RBH portfolio and further defines our expertise in upscale, luxurious properties that offer leisure and dining experiences.”
Chris Stewart, CEO of Chris Stewart Group, said:
“The AC Hotels by Marriott brand holds a world-wide prestige and the new AC Hotel Glasgow brings unquestionable quality and something different to the city’s hotel offering, as well as serving as a key element of the exciting £100m Love Loan development.
“RBH Hospitality Management has an impressive track record of managing some of the world’s premier hotels. Operating under General Manager Craig Munro, the RBH team will ensure the AC by Marriott Hotel Glasgow develops a reputation as one of Scotland’s very best hotels.”
