RBH Hospitality Management wins Springboard’s 2023 Employee Health & Wellbeing Award
RBH has picked up the award for Employee Health & Wellbeing at this year’s Springboard Awards for Excellence.
The industry charity’s annual awards ceremony took place at the East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf on Thursday 20th April. The event recognised businesses and individuals that have inspired hospitality professionals, supported growth, developed co-workers and been leaders in their communities.
RBH’s award win follows the development of the business’ Giving Something Back programme which pledges a commitment to its environment, communities and people. The people element focuses on physical, mental and financial health. The strategy has been largely developed in the past 12 months to identify and work with professional bodies that are experts in mental health to authenticate the training and initiatives offered. Highlights include:
- Partnering with the Mental Health Charter as the first ever platinum accredited hospitality business
- Fundraising for Mental Health UK as the chosen charity partner and providing access to an extensive support network of resources
- 15 health and wellbeing focused internal courses
- 277 Mental Health First Aiders and Champions across the business
- Developing an internal accreditation, the RBH Tree of Life Gold Leaf Standard, which commits to supporting activeness, nutrition, mental fitness, social and financial wellbeing.
In addition to picking up this prestigious award, RBH was also a finalist for the Community Engagement Award, among industry giants like the category’s winner, Wagamama. This year’s Springboard Awards for Excellence saw record numbers of nominations, with over 200 entries and 16 eventual winners.
On the award success, Martin MacPhail, HR Director at RBH said:
“This is a particularly meaningful award for us. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our people and have worked incredibly hard to continually assess and develop a robust and personalised strategy to support the wellbeing of our staff as much as possible. It’s an honour to be recognised among some other phenomenal hospitality brands and individuals that have gone above and beyond to give something back.”
