RBH has become the UK's first hotel management company to achieve gold accreditation from the Academy of Food and Wine Service (AFWS) for excellence in front-of-house training across all of its properties.

As the UK's largest hotel management company, RBH is known for its commitment to excellence in training at all levels. To achieve its new Academy Centre of Excellence (ACE) accreditation, the company demonstrated high standards in recruitment, employment and training practice, as well effective arrangements for induction, skills development and management training.

The ACE Accreditation is one of a number of initiatives aimed at building talent across the business. RBH recently welcomed the first recruit to its graduate scheme and in 2012 the company's F&B division was recognised in the UK Springboard Awards, winning Best Chef Strategy for its track record of recruiting, developing and retaining chefs throughout the business.

Susan Bland, Head of Human Resources at RBH, said:

"We have a very varied portfolio but our commitment to service is consistent across all of our properties and this is a huge achievement for all of our hotels. Ongoing training and development is incredibly important both for providing excellent customer service and showing staff that they are valued. As a hotel management company, our people are our biggest asset. We have some fantastic, passionate individuals in the business, and it is important to retain them."

The Academy Centre of Excellence (ACE) accreditation programme is the industry-recognised standard for front-of-house food and beverage service training and a benchmark for world-class standards. There are three levels of ACE accreditation - Bronze, Silver and Gold - that reflect the availability and standard of training for entry level through to staff and management. ACE is a 'badge of honour' that demonstrates commitment to and excellence in service training while sending a strong message to customers that high standards of service are a priority.

RBH currently manages 60 properties under management contracts and long-term leases. RBH operates owners' hotels to best practice, by dedicating expert strategic management and utilising centralised systems and processes to deliver excellent guest satisfaction and maximum return for all stakeholders.
